What is NASA other than the place where astronauts work?
NASA is the Northern Agricultural Shows Association SA Inc (NASA) which the Gawler Show along with 10 other shows are members.
2023, will see NASA celebrating its 100th year, it originated when a meeting was held in Gladstone on 27th May 1923 and a resolution was passed that an Association be formed.
DID YOU KNOW if you enter as a competitor or exhibitor you can qualify for 13 different NASA aggregates and win the aggregate for the following sections:

- Beef Cattle
- Cookery
- Flowers
- Horses in Action
- Needlework, Handicrafts & Hobbies

- Pigeons
- Poultry
- Photography
- Preserves
- Produce (Eggs & Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
- Sheep (Merino)
- Wool
The Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society Medal for 2019 will be awarded to WOOL
To participate, all you need to do is tick the box on the entry form of at least 2 or 3 shows in the NASA region, either in the Junior or Senior division.
How you earn points, each 1st, 2nd or 3rd place you win, you accumulate points and the person with the highest points is awarded the winner.
1st place – 5 points
2nd place – 3 points
3rd place – 2 points
Champion Prizes do not count. In the event of a tie for highest points, the Exhibitor who gains the most first prizes will be declared the winner for Seniors.
For a tie in the Junior Section, 2nd & 3rd places achieved by the tied entrants will be taken into consideration to achieve a result.
- Seniors 18 years and over – must enter 3 NASA shows to qualify
- Juniors 5-17 years – must enter 2 NASA shows to qualify
- Sheep & Cattle classes need only compete in 2 NASA shows to qualify
